Super-light mortar is a mixture of epoxy and light aggregates.It is a specially designed light epoxy mortar with high strength.Low specific gravity of 0.8 makes super-light mortar applied thick or thin on the sealing, balcony, stairs or pier, which was not possible with other epoxy mortars currently in use.Super-light mortar is not dried out even if it is applied thin.It provides enough adhesive strength for concrete or reinforcing bars due to the high adhesive strength of epoxy resin. It does not produce any cracks (poor interfacial adhesion) caused by the volume reduction, for it has a stable weather-resistance regardless of natural condition of high or low temperatures, and almost no shrinkage resulting from hardening reaction. It offers the compression, bending and tensile strengths which are 3 to 10 times higher than those of cement mortar or concrete. It hardens in about 18 hours and gives the compression strength of 200~300kg/cm within 28 hours. (Based on the normal temperature of 23℃/ 5mm thickness) It is not affected by external impact, vibration or tensile strength, for it provides a perfect reinforcement to low strength and aged surface strength of new or old concrete. It offers a superior anti-corrosion effect, for it is abrasion resistant and chemical resistant against acid,alkali etc, almost incomparable to those of cement mortar. Because it has a super-lightweight physical property, it allows you to do the task without molding flask and makes it easy to control thickness of the decorative design surface. Pot Life the period of time during which you can work without a change in viscosity after resin and hardener are mixed. Tack Free the state of hardening in which you can lightly touch the mixed resin with your hand, but the hardened material does not stick. Hardening Time the time it takes for the mixed resin to be hardened enough to realize about 80% of final mechanical strength. Limitation on the work Work shall not be allowed when the ambient temperature of the job site goes out of the range of 5℃~30℃ or the humidity is over 85%. Work is not allowed for the area where concrete is wet or set with more than 10% moisture in it or polymerized. To prevent the condensation of moisture, the surface temperature of surface temperature must be higher than the dew point at least by 3℃E and the relative humidity shall be lower than 85%.
As this product is two-component chemical which hardens at normal temperature, you have to mix the main material with the hardener based on exact weight. The mixed chemical is greatly affected temperature, volume of mixture and pot life. Pot life and hardening time will be shortened if the main material and the hardener are mixed in large volume or used in high temperature or used while the temperature of chemical is high. Therefore, you have to mix in small volume in summer and artificially raise the temperature of resin in winter to improve the working efficiency.Surface Treatment - Remove laitance, dust, oil, moisture and other foreign substances of lower surface of concrete.
(Unless impurities are completely removed, de-lamination can occur due to poor adhesion)
- Smooth the lower surface by using polisher, sand blast, sand grinder and wire brush etc.
- The surface should have fine ruggedness like sandpaper in order to ensure maximum adhesiveness.Primer coating - Weigh the primer main material and the hardener according to the mixing formula and stir it with electronic blender and pour it in the mixing can and stir it again for 5 minutes.
- Evenly apply the stirred primer to the lower surface with a roller or a brush.
- If there exists oil on the lower surface during primer coating, primer may produce something like water droplets. So, please never fail to remove oil before you resume primer coating work. (For the surface whose absorption is excessive, please apply primer coating two times to prevent loss of mortar due to the infiltration into the surface and the possibility of poor adhesion)Coating - Mix DH-EM50 at a smooth plate at the rated weight ratio(main material 2 :hardener 1). Mix the materials clearly with hands in glove for 3 to 5 minutes to ensure the uniform color to be created.
- Push the mixed DH-EM50 into the part to be treated with hands in glove.
- Fill the deficient point on the part to be repaired with DH-EM50, and perform the task on the surface with it pressing smoothly to ensure there is no loosening part, like doing decorative design work,using a trowel so that there is no bent being on the upper part. (If the super lightweight resin mortar material is raised with it being attached or a beautiful surface for the purpose is not pursued with the decorative design work, get a small amount of epoxy thinner on it to do the task.)
- DH-EM50 is a epoxy resin without solvent, meaning it is not diluted with the solvent normally. Be cautious that it is not to be subject to an excessive dilution, or it may be a reason of delayed hardening, insufficient strength and or crack.
- The task ranging from start of resin stirring to decorative design with filling should be done within pot life. If the temperature of the mixed resin gets increased or you need more effort to do the task due to a higher viscosity, you need to stop using it and do away with it because it means pot life is over.All the equipments and tools that are used for this operation should be cleaned when the operation is finished. Detergent such as M.E.K, Acetone, Xylene, Toluene and epoxy thinner should be used when cleaning. If the Foam is smeared on your skin during the performance, wash it immediately with flowing water.- When you treating medical fluid, make sure you wear protective helmet, goggle clothes and other protective devices.
- If the medical fluid is smeared on your skin, wash it off immediately and clean up with soapy water.
- All the hand tools and equipments that are used for this operation should be cleaned with thinner thoroughly.
- If you are working in sealed room, then make sure to conduct constraint ventilation for clean air.
- If the medical fluid is smeared on your skin and causes skin trouble, then you should go see specialist for prescription.
- If the temperature is below 5℃, then you must artificially raise up the temperature of medical fluid. This way you can get proper Pot Life.
- If the atmosphere temperature is high and the area is humid, Pot Life of medical fluid quickens. On the contrary, Pot Life will slow down in low temperature area.
- Be aware of it before you conduct the operation.Recommended temperature for storage is 10~25℃ with no moisture. Store it in cool area. Storing period is about 6 months in sealed condition however it can be corrupted according to storing area and conditions. Preferably use it as soon as possible.
